Who are the members of the Training Accreditation Council?

The members of the Training Accreditation Council are appointed by the Minister for Education and Training. Each member serves a three year term.

Mr Ian Hill

Mr Hill has had experience as a senior executive within the training sector, having previously held the position of Chief Executive, Department of Training. Mr Hill has played a leadership role at both state and national level in the development of the Vocational Education and Training System. Mr Hill is a strong advocate for the flexible delivery of education, life-long learning and global education and training.
 
Ms Lorraine Carter WA Human Resources Manager, BigW. Ms Carter brings to the Council her extensive training experience at BigW and previously Woolworths.  Loraine is HR Specialist overseeing recruiting and training for BigW operations in Western Australia.
 
Ms Liz Harris  Managing Director, Challenger TAFE.  Ms Harris provides leadership in Strategic Planning, Policy development and resource allocation that is responsive to industry and community learning needs.
Mr Iain McDougall General Manager, Hospitality Group Training (WA) Inc.  Iain has been with Hospitality Group Training for ten years and oversees HGTs involvement in school based traineeships, work place based traineeships, on line training and skills recognition.
Dr Irene Ioannakis Managing Director, Caterpillar Institute. Former Director, Safety, Education and Training, Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA. Dr Ioannakis has extensive training experience with the Chamber, and lecturer in training and development at Edith Cowan University.
 
Mr Dave Woods Chief Executive Officer, Curriculum Council. Mr Woods has extensive cross sectoral experience and has played a leadership role in the development and delivery of VET in Schools in Western Australia. In addition, Mr Woods has played a significant role in the establishment of selection criteria for entry into TAFE courses and the development of structured workplace learning in the schools system.

 
Mr Mark Simpson Mr Simpson has over 25 years experience in the VET sector in senior managerial and operational levels, gaining significant skills in the areas of curriculum, training provider registration and skills recognition. In addition, he has played a significant role in training within a large resource based organisation and was responsible for training for over 4,500 employees, including apprentices and trainees and Indigenous training and employment.
