Can I amend my organisation's registration?

An RTO can amend its registration at any time by applying to the Council.

RTOs wishing to add replacement qualifications/units of competence/courses for those that have been superceded, must submit an application to the TAC Secretariat. RTOs are required to complete and submit an RTO2 Amendment to Registration form for TAC approval prior to the commencement of delivering the proposed qualifications/units of competence/courses.

RTOs wishing to add qualifications/units of competence/courses which it is not currently registered to deliver must apply to the Council. RTOs can not deliver and assess any of the proposed qualifications/units of competence/courses until the amendment has been approved by the Council.

A RTO can amend its registration by:

  • adding units of competency, Training Package qualifications, and/or nationally accredited courses to its current scope of registration;
  • replacing an accredited course with a Training Package;
  • transferring to revised Training Package qualifications; or
  • removing qualifications, courses, units from current scope of registration.

The appropriate Application Form can be downloaded from the following link:

Application details are provided in the...

How will my application be evaluated?

When the TAC Secretariat receives your application, it will undergo a desktop review to determine if further information is required. The TAC Secretariat will then conduct a risk assessment to determine the type of audit to be undertaken. Where qualifications and/or units of competence/courses are added to an RTO's scope of registration and no audit was conducted, those qualifications/units of competence/courses may be subject to audit at any subsequent AQTF audit of the RTO. The following flowchart details the audit process for the amendment to registration process.
