Specific Evidence Requirements for TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is the foundation for the effective and efficient delivery and assessment of all VET qualifications and without a robust and relevant TAE qualification, all VET training and assessment is at risk.  The Training Accreditation Council takes very seriously its regulatory obligations and, at times, imposes specific requirements on qualifications to protect the integrity of the system. Consequently, all RTOs registered with the Council that make application to deliver the new Cert IV qualification will be required to undergo an audit against the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.

RTOs will be required to meet specific evidence requirements when applying to add the qualification to their scope of registration.

The evidence requirements are available here.

Becoming an RTO Information Session

If you are considering becoming a registered training organisation, we encourage you to attend one of the free information sessions which cover the application and audit process.

The Audit Experience: Facts and Fiction

Undergoing an RTO Audit can be a stressful experience, but it doesn't have to be if you are well informed and prepared for the audit.  The aim of this webinar is to provide you with information on the audit process and introduce you to information and resources that you can use to help with audit preparations, to participate in the audit effectively, as well as how to approach your audit results.

The Accreditation Process

Accrediting a course within the VET sector is a significant undertaking for an organisation. The aim of this webinar is to provide you with information that will help you to understand why and how TAC implements the course accreditation process and what you can do to help make the experience a positive one for your organisation.

Strategic Review of Tilt-up Units

In response to fatalities linked to tilt up work at a construction site in East Perth in November 2015, the Council endorsed a regulatory strategy to conduct monitoring audits of RTOs delivering the units of competency CPCCBC4022A Supervise tilt-up work and CPCCCM1016A Identify requirements for safe tilt-up work.

Site audits of eight RTOs were undertaken during April and May 2016 with a technical advisor participating in all site audits. The initial audit outcomes revealed varying levels of overall compliance with the Standards for RTOs with the areas of highest non-compliance in relation to assessment, meeting training package requirements in terms of resources and amount of training. Following the finalisation of all audits, the outcomes of this strategy will be shared with WorkSafe.

Marketing

The Council has received a number of complaints in relation to marketing being conducted on behalf of RTOs and would like to remind RTOs that they are responsible for all marketing and other material disseminated on its behalf, regardless of the method used. Inappropriate marketing being conducted on the RTOs behalf could result in the RTO being non-compliant with the Standards for RTOs. Further information on appropriate marketing is available in the Marketing fact sheet.

Third Party Arrangements

RTOs are required to advise the Council of all current third party agreements via completion of the RTO3 Notification of Third Party Agreement application form. RTOs will need to continually notify TAC when entering into a new or ending an agreement.  Further information is available in the Third Party Arrangements fact sheet.
