What is required of an RTO?  

An organisation wishing to be an RTO must:

  • comply with the AQTF Essential Standards for Registration standards for RTOs;
  • comply with relevant state and commonwealth legislation;
  • comply with policies and guidelines approved by the Training Accreditation Council;
  • stay informed with what is happening in training at a state and national level through websites including:
    TAC , DEST, Department of Education and Training
  • notify TAC of any change of RTO details to their operations including commencing delivery interstate/overseas, change of ownership or primary contact, financial difficulty, contact details, scope of registration;
  • undergo compliance audits;
  • engage in ongoing professional development;
  • apply to TAC for renewal of registration 3 months prior to expiry;
  • make available statistical data required under public funding arrangements; and
  • notify TAC of its intention to cease operations as an RTO.

 

What are the Conditions of Registration?

When applying for initial registration or renewal of registration, each training organisation signs a declaration that binds it to operate in accordance with the AQTF Essential Standards for Registration. These standards include the Conditions of Registration.
