What are training packages?

A training package is a set of nationally endorsed competency standards, qualifications and assessment guidelines for training, assessing and recognising people's skills. A training package describes the skills and knowledge needed to perform effectively in the workplace.

Training packages are developed by industry to meet the training needs of a specific industry, industry sector or enterprise. Training packages consist of core endorsed components of competency standards, assessment guidelines and qualifications, and optional non-endorsed components of support materials such as learning strategies, assessment resources and professional development materials.
