Where can I get industry training information?

Industry Training Councils (ITCs) provide information about industry training requirements to government and vocational training requirements to industry and RTOs. ITCs may also assist Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) with information on legislative and licensing requirements, which cover the training and/or future employment outcomes to qualifications/courses.  Compliance with these requirements should be examined before commencement of training.

A fundamental part of an RTO's planning for delivery is to engage in appropriate industry consultation with the industry or industries it services. Such consultation is needed to provide the training most appropriate for Western Australian conditions and requirements.

The following industry reports have been provided by each state-based Industry Training Council which identify labour market trends, training provision and existing and emerging skills, training needs and employment needs. Information provided includes:

  • Industry area coverage
  • National industry skills councils
  • Training packages
  • Qualifications
  • WorkSafe
  • Workforce issues, characteristics, activities
  • Industry organisations/associations
  • Licensing or regulatory requirements
  • Training environment/issues
  • High risk training concerns
  • National associations

As additional material is provided by the ITCs this information will be updated to ensure validity and currency.
