New requirements for the Protection of Fees Paid in Advance from 1 July

The Training Accreditation Council has recently endorsed its Guideline
on the Protection of Fees Paid in Advance. The Guideline outlines the
protection options that will be accepted by the TAC to address the
requirement to protect fees paid in advance under Condition of
Registration 5.
This Guideline outlines the Training Accreditation Council definition
of 'fees paid in advance' and its intended to assist RTOs in determining
if their organisation collects fees paid in advance. RTOs are required
to adopt one of the options that has been approved by TAC in order to
meet compliance with the Condition of Registration.
RTOs will be required to meet the requirements of the Guideline by
1 July 2008 and should note that you will be required to provide
clear information to students prior to and at the time of enrolment on
the method of fee protection that is applicable to their enrolment.
