About us

The Training Accreditation Council (TAC or the Council) is Western Australia's independent statutory body for quality assurance and recognition of vocational education and training (VET) services. The Council is established under the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996.

The Council registers training providers under the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 and accr​edits VET courses under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).

The Council is supported by the Department of Training and Workforce Development through the services of the TAC Secretariat.

The Secretariat's key roles are to:

  • process applications for registration of training organisations
  • process the accreditation of courses for consideration by the Council
  • provide the Council with important support on policy issues.​
