BUNBURY EVENT - Assessment - Designing and Using Assessment Tools

Tuesday 10 March 9:00 am - 1:00 pm – Register here

As assessments are used to determine a learner’s competence, RTOs must ensure their assessment tools are developed to meet all unit or module assessment requirements and the Standards for RTOs. This session provides both practical and specific information on the design and development of assessment tools to gather evidence that can be used to make judgements of competence.

 

BUNBURY EVENT - RTO Governance including third party arrangements

This session will cover the broader issue of RTO governance and will include RTO business processes, record management and third party agreement management. The session is appropriate for staff at executive level and staff involved with maintaining and ensuring quality systems related to the business practices of an RTO and its compliance with requirements of the Standards for RTOs.

 

Assessment Part II - Design and Development of an Assessment System

Perth Workshop and Webinar – Monday 30 March 2020, 9am-1pm Register here

This half-day session is part two of a three-part series conducted throughout 2020 with a focus on each stage of the assessment process.  It will provide RTOs with practical and specific information on the design and development of an assessment system with an emphasis on; the fundamentals of competency-based assessment, key drivers of the assessment system, shaping the assessment system and documenting an assessment system.

Panel Arrangement for RTO Auditors and Accreditation Reviewers

 

The Department of Training and Workforce Development is seeking to establish a panel arrangement of RTO Auditors and Accreditation Reviewers to replace the existing panel arrangement for the Training Accreditation Council to use on ‘as and when required’ basis.

 

Under this arrangement two panels will be established to undertake audits of training providers and reviews of course accreditation submissions.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) for membership of the Training Accreditation Council are now invited.

 

Help influence the quality of vocational education and training in Western Australia.

 

The Minister for Education and Training is looking for people with effective leadership skills, strategic thinking abilities, knowledge and experience in quality assurance to help influence the quality of VET throughout Western Australia.  

 

If you have these skills, plus knowledge and experience of the national VET system, we would like to hear from you.

 

EOIs must include a brief curriculum vitae of no more than two pages (using the approved proforma) and be accompanied by a covering letter outlining how you meet Council member requirements as outlined in the Council member selection criteria (maximum of two pages).

EOIs must be received by Friday 6 March 2020 at 5.00pm (WST).

 

 

2020 WA Training Awards

 

The Training Accreditation Council is supporting the 2020 WA Training Awards, by sponsoring the WA Trainer of the Year category.

 

The Awards recognise and reward individuals and organisations that have excelled in vocational education and training – from apprentices, trainees and vocational students, to training professionals, training providers and employers committed to the training and development of their staff.

 

There are a number of award categories and people and organisations from across Western Australia and from all areas of training are encouraged to nominate for the Awards.

 

The TAC is proud to support the WA Trainer of the Year category and encourages all RTOs to promote the awareness of the Awards within their organisations and colleagues within the VET sector.

Applications close on Friday 1 May 2020 and the Awards will be announced at a presentation ceremony to be held in Perth on Friday 18 September 2020.

 

The 2020 WA Training Awards are co-ordinated by the Department of Training and Workforce Development and the State Training Board.

The Australian Government Department of Health has issued advice for vocational education and training providers regarding the coronavirus situation.
