AVETMISS Reporting - 2017 Activity
The collection window for direct reporting to NCVER of 2017 AVETMISS fee-for-service activity will open on 2 January 2018 and close on 28 February 2018.
Please note: no reporting extensions will be available.
If you are submitting a nil activity return, this also needs to be reported using the AVETMISS Validation Software (AVS). Please see NCVER's How to submit a Nil Return fact sheet for instructions.
AVETMISS Reporting - 2018 Activity
AVETMISS 8.0 has been released and will apply to all training activity from 1 January 2018.
Please review your enrolment form to ensure that it meets the new National VET Data Policy requirements and is consistent with AVETMISS requirements for 2018 enrolments.

Client Qualification Register
Due to the implementation of the Unique Student Identifier (USI) Transcript Service TAC registered RTOs will no longer be required to submit student achievement data to the Client Qualification Register (CQR).

National VET Data Policy
A new National VET Data Policy was agreed by Skills Ministers at the COAG Industry and Skills Council meeting on 24 November 2017. The policy is the result of a sector−wide public consultation process, and closes information gaps by clarifying regulatory requirements and streamlining some reporting exemptions.

TAC Education Program
In 2018 TAC will continue to offer specialised professional development opportunities aimed at RTOs delivering practical information to support business improvement and compliance practices.

Marketing and Governance Audit Strategy: A review of marketing and governance practices of RTOs
A number of State and National reviews identified that RTO marketing practices and governance arrangements were significant factors in the provision of quality training and assessment.
Non-compliance with the Standards for RTOs relating to marketing and governance have resulted in training outcomes that have not met learner and industry expectations.
TAC commissioned the Marketing and Governance Audit Strategy to assess compliance with the Standards for RTOs, comprising Standard 4 and selected clauses of Standards 5 and 7. The audit enquired into:
- availability of accurate, transparent, relevant and accessible information for prospective and current learners and clients about an RTO and its services (Standard 4);
- availability of adequate information about the RTO's obligations and learners' rights and obligations in respect of training products and services the learner will receive (clauses 5.2 and 5.3); and
- appropriate governance and administration arrangements in place to enable compliance with the Standards for RTOs at all times (clauses 7.1 and 7.3).
TAC has made three recommendations as an outcome of the strategy. The recommendations focus on monitoring of on-going compliance of RTOs and an expansion of TAC's Education Program.
