TAC Education Program

In 2016 TAC launched its Education Program to build capability and understanding of RTOs and their staff to meet their obligations in regard to the Standards for RTOs. Some sessions have been recorded and are available on the TAC website to view:

Becoming an RTO Information Session

If you are considering becoming a registered training organisation, this information session provides information on the application and audit process.

The Audit Experience: Facts and Fiction

Undergoing an RTO Audit can be a stressful experience, but it doesn't have to be if you are well informed and prepared for the audit.  The aim of this webinar is to provide information on the audit process and introduce you to information and resources that can be used to help with audit preparations, to participate in the audit effectively, as well as how to approach your audit results.

The Course Accreditation Process

Accrediting a course within the VET sector is a significant undertaking for an organisation. The aim of this webinar is to provide you with information that will help you to understand why and how TAC implements the course accreditation process and what you can do to help make the experience a positive one for your organisation.

TAC Education Workshop

This session provides practical information to support compliance practices including workshop activities on specific topics linked to the Standards for RTOs such as:

·         Amount of Training (Clauses 1.1-1.2)

·         Assessment (Clause 1.8)

·         Validation (Clauses 1.9-1.11)

2017 TAC Education Program

Registration for programs available during 2017 will be available on the TAC Professional Development page in the new year.

Scope Maintenance

The method of calculation for Registration, Amendment to Registration and Annual Fees is based on the scale and scope of a provider’s operations. For this reason, RTOs are encouraged to review their current scope of delivery to ensure that fees are not charged for qualifications that have expired or that the RTO no longer wishes to deliver. In some instances this will result in a reduction of fees payable and ensure that the information held on the national database training.gov.au is a true reflection of the RTO’s operations.

RTOs that wish to remove qualifications from scope can submit an amendment to scope application via RTONet https://stars.dtwd.wa.gov.au.

Specific Evidence Requirments for TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is the foundation for the effective and efficient delivery and assessment of all VET qualifications and without a robust and relevant TAE qualification, all VET training and assessment is at risk.  The Training Accreditation Council takes very seriously its regulatory obligations and, at times, imposes specific requirements on qualifications to protect the integrity of the system. Consequently, all RTOs registered with the Council that make application to deliver the new Cert IV qualification will be required to undergo an audit against the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.

RTOs will be required to meet specific evidence requirements when applying to add the qualification to their scope of registration.

The evidence requirements are available here.
